Ford OEM and Motorcraft are the recommended brand for all of your replacement parts whenever possible and if you cannot find Ford OEM or Motorcraft be sure to choose a high quality brand you trust. Note that many of the parts are different for earlier 7.3 Old Body Style (OBS) Power Strokes than the 99+ Super Duty versions.

With the Power Stroke starting half way through 1994 many of the parts used were left overs from previous years for example the early 7.3 Radiators were left over 7.3 IDI radiators that had a radiator cap and catch can which differed from the latest sealed radiator with an overflow gas vent container with a cap. Also the earliest versions had a mechanical fuel pump while the latter had an electronic pump. For the most part many of the parts are interchangeable with a few exceptions like the ones mentioned above.

Having trouble finding a reputable brand? Motorcraft, Donaldson, Baldwin and Fleetguard for example all make good quality filters for the 7.3L PSD.
